Singer held with illegal gun, ammo

A 24-year-old singer is facing charges following a firearm and ammunition seizure in his community on Sunday.

Adrien Allen, otherwise known as 'Top Top', of Grandison Path, Kingston 11, has been charged with possession of prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition. Reports from the Olympic Gardens police are that at 10:20 p.m., a team on patrol in the area observed a group of men standing along the roadway. They were approached after their actions aroused the lawmen's suspicion and a search was conducted. During the search, a Taurus Gen3 9mm pistol with an affixed magazine containing 14 9mm rounds of ammunition was found in Allen's waistband. The firearm was seized, and Allen was taken into custody, where he was charged.

His court date is being finalised.
